release soon !?

Michael has been told that he will most likely be released tomorrow! The second blood test showed a higher-than-normal amount of one of his antibiotics. The first test showed that the level in his blood was normal, so the doctors are a bit puzzled as to why the two results. They are thinking that the second blood test may have been an error in the lab. Regardless, they must now wait on the antibiotic, and they will do another blood test. If the 3rd blood test is normal, they will continue with the same dosage of antibiotic. If the test does indeed show higher levels of the antibiotic, they will wait on the antibiotic and adjust his dosage accordingly.

An echocardiogram was done this morning, and our cardiologist says the echo shows that Michael's heart is working a bit "sluggish." It is not contracting the way it should be. He thinks this could be due to the fact that Michael's heart was working "overtime" before the surgery, and now his heart needs a few more days to adapt to his new cow valve. He expects for Michael's heart to go back to "normal" within a few weeks. Michael will be having another echocardiogram in 9 days, so he will be closely monitored.

We just all need to continue praying that Michael will have a great recovery at home, and that his heart functions return to normal so that Michael can get back to a "normal" life! Thank you to all for your continued prayers!
